Sebastian Inlet Surf & Sport is the closest shop to Florida's best known wave. We're 100% dedicated to the local community, working with local shapers, surfers, businesses, artists, musicians and emerging brands to bring you a shop experience unlike any other. We opened the shop Memorial Day Weekend 2012 with a raging grand opening party that brought the best surf of the year the next morning -- but we've been surfing and hanging out at Brevard County's south beaches for decades.
The shop is 2 miles north of the Sebastian Inlet Bridge and features a shaded porch for hanging out post-session, a main floor for clothing and accessories and a dedicated Board Room for short boards, long boards, body boards, skim boards and SUPs. Our roster of shapers includes Ricky Carroll, Sam Barker & Neil Hamilton.
Living up to the "Surf & Sport" part of our name, we teach surf lessons, hold summer surf camps, rent surfboards, body boards, skimboards and stand-up paddling equipment We do guided bicycle rides on the local off-road trails and teach technique for athletes in the triathlon sports of open water swimming, cycling and running.
The newest addition to our facilities is what we call Inlet Oaks Train Station, which is something of a jungle gym, with a deck for yoga and Indo Board, climbing ropes, a slack line and chin up & parallel bars. Stay tuned, because we've got some really fun additions planned for our very own Train Station.
At night, the Inlet Oaks Train Station magically transforms into the Inlet Oaks Event Center where we host an ever growing roster of community oriented events and private celebrations. We celebrate our annual Anniversary Party every year on the Saturday night of Memorial Day Weekend. That party features two or three live bands, vendor tents in the parking lot, massive amounts of food and beverages and a fund raising raffle. Proceeds are donated to a different local cause every year.
As a "Surf Shop with a Cycling Problem", we also organize the annual Vuelta a Sebastian Inlet bicycle ride. This friendly non-competitive ride brings together regional bicycle enthusiasts to discover the hidden off-road trails of the Sebastian Inlet area. The Vuelta raises funds for the Friends of Sebastian Inlet State Park volunteer group, an amazing organization that annually logs over 30 thousand hours of volunteer service. Additionally, we also provide "the best rest stops ever" for charity bike rides like the Space Coast Discovery's Cycle Jam for the Kids.
Other events at the Inlet Oaks Event Center have benefitted the Surfrider Foundation, the First Peak Project, the Indian River Lagoon Research Institute at FIT, the Sea Turtle Conservancy and the surf clubs at local high schools.
