At Sebastian Inlet Surf & Sport, we're proud to be a "Surf Shop with a Cycling Problem." We support many fundraising rides including Vero Cycling's "Hibiscus Ride" and the Space Coast Early Intervention Center's "Cycle Jam for the Kids." We also have begun renting the way cool Motobecane Fat Bikes and leading tours on the local trails near the shop.
5th Annual Vuelta a Sebastian Inlet
It was bound to happen sooner or later: the 5th Annual Vuelta a Sebastian Inlet is scheduled for March 17 ... that's right, St. Patrick's Day! We figure there's no better way to start off this heavily hyped holiday than with a great ride around the hidden trails of Sebastian Inlet.
As usual, the objective of the Vuelta is to have a substantial quotient of fun into a nice donation to the Friends of Sebastian Inlet State Park volunteer organization. This great group does a tremendous amount of work to make "The Inlet" one of Florida's premiere parks and we're proud to be partnering with them for the fifth consecutive year.
What Matthew did to the routes in 2017 has been largely undone by a tremendous amount of work, particularly in the section through the Indian River Preserve State Park.Routes that were barely ridable last year are virtually roads now, which kinda takes some fun out of it, but fortunately they've also mowed some new trails to make up for the lost difficulty. Don't worry mega Monster Riders, you'll still be able to work up a sweat!
On the other hand, the folks from Sharon's Field wanted a little more distance, a little more challenge and a lot more sights. The new route takes in four parks, three museums and one teeny, tiny little bridge ... twice.
As did last year, we're staggering the start times of all three routes so that they finish more or less at the same time ... so no one gets a head start at the delicious Inlet Classic IPA brewed up by our good friends from Pareidolia Brewing Company in Sebastian. Of course, we'll also have great BBQ and live music for your post-ride pleasure.
The Vuelta is all about good friends having a great time on a beautiful spring Saturday morning, so we look to welcome riders from Vero Cycling, the Brevard Mountain Bike Association, Space Coast Velo Sport and shops like Orchid Island Bikes & Kayaks, Infinity Bike Shop, Bob's Bicycles and Revolutions Cyclery.
And we can't forget our awesome sponsors! A major tip of the cap to Longdoggers, Natalie's Orchid Island Juice Company, Gladiator Electric, Vero Cycling and Siren Salon.
